Plural, succubi are a female sexual vampire. Historically, the term was used to describe a reason for the sexual dreams a person sometimes experiences, and were thought to be caused by a demonic spirit which took the form of a female in order to drain a person of his/her energy, and lead the defenseless person into sexual sin while they slept.
