Post This isn't typically the sort of place you'd find me...
And yet here I am.

I'm the Jingle Hopper, I'm first and foremost ME, who happens to be a great many things (some of them mutually exclusive). One of those things is pookha.

The most accurate explanation I can give of what that means is that I'm a shapeshifter by nature, and pure trouble by design. The oldest legends about the phook say that they were demon horses who would lure unsuspecting villagers (hoping to tame a wild horse and profit) onto their backs, and then take them on crazy rides around the countryside and dump them somewhere far away from home, possibly never to make it home.

However, horses aren't the only thing a pooka can turn into; they can take any form they wish, although once an adult you pretty much have one that you use most of the time, and maybe two or three others you occasionally indulge. I'm mostly feline.

We're not always that malicious, though. We're just chaotic. The Pookah's role in the faerie world is that of the Tower as personified in the Tarot, or Hagalaz as a rune in the Futhark language - we are the wild, chaotic destructive force that razes the garbage on the land to nothing, so that a beautiful new forest can grow. There are a lot of fae (redcaps come to mind) whose job it is to wreck and devastate, but only the pookah do it out of an almost-divine vision of a happy, cheerful utopia. We are walking contradictions of purely honest emotion and absolute deception who can simultaneously be the world's worst cynic and cheesiest romantic.

So... we're not your average brownie who sneaks into peoples' houses to clean their fireplace.

Above and beyond that, I as Jingles am a particularly complex, particularly twisted woman, and honestly I don't really consider myself 'otherkin'. I just happen to be a soul not of human origin, coping with the crap that is human existence to get a little taste of the material, incarnate world.

Yes, I have a fluffy tail; no, you may not pet it. I also feel my hair. As in, I have a diagnosed medical condition where my hair, body hair, head hair, the cilia in my ears, it's all extremely sensitive, almost like whiskers - makes me sneeze a lot. I -do- have wings most of the time, too, but they're just manifestations of faerie dust.

I also tend to leave sparkles everywhere I go. I'm not as hyper as I was when I was young, but... well. Still trouble. ~_^

So... HI!

Hello, welcome.

Nice to see another Phooka around. I'm connected to the fae, have strong ties to phooka and kelpies. ;) Perhaps sometime we could have a chat.

Hello and welcome.

Make sure you are familiar with the rules, not reading them does not make you exempt from them. They can be found here.

.. But this is practically the working definition of 'otherkin'..

My wings are TOTAL vanity. They developed because I thought they were supposed too, and they're just too pretty to get rid of! I have a weakness for sparkly things. *cough*

As far as referring to myself as "otherkin"... that's kind of like admitting you're a furry. The automatic stereotype is just so unavoidable that I simply choose not to be pigeonholed in such a manner. Besides, anyone with half a brain who even thinks fae MIGHT be real can kind of figure it out on their own after a while of being around me. Besides, 'otherkin' is really vague and can mean so, so many different things, and if I really want to say something that will make people think, "I wonder if I should have her committed," I'll just tell them I'm a faerie who has magical powers and can make it rain by singing.

I did read the rules (again), just to make sure, but I'm old enough to behave myself by now, I think. ~_^ So hi!

So basically you imagined wings and kept them around because they were cool?

You believe it rains when you sing?

And this is why I don't call myself otherkin or associate with them. Here you have a group of people who get made fun of, disbelieved, derided, and judged constantly for believing things that most would consider the most ridiculous form of bullshit, who then turn right around and do the same thing to some of the few other people in the world who might believe in them.

That's why you're all losers and everyone makes fun of you. You're all so obsessed with being right and knowing the only truth it's like hanging out with religious morons. And for people whose very existences are based in metaphorical beliefs you want to take things literally just to pick on someone because you can't tolerate magical people who also happen to be HAPPY.

And you know, just because you're a pack of friendless, isolated, depressed and whiny little brats who only want to believe in TEH DARK SIED!1!!!OMFGZ! and be vampires and soul-eating bansidhes doesn't mean that everything in the metaphysical world is emo like you. Some of us are happy, cheerful, and we spread light where ever we go. And even normal people have heard of faerie dust, or are you too good to believe in that too? Believing in things you like just to make them appear is pretty much the glorious prerogative of being fae, thank you very much. I know you're probably jealous about my awesome skills of energy manipulation, but you'll never figure it out yourself attacking people on the internet.

See, when you expect misery and hatefulness, and are a bitch or asshole without being provoked, you don't reap anything from it. You just get to be lonely and hated and disliked even by other people who might believe in some of the same crazy shit you do. And goddamn, but don't you think when you're effectively in the looney bin of the world, that it might do you well not to piss off the other psychos?

I was laughing at your reaction with my wife who said, "Oh, they're just REALLY used to trolls." But you know what? If anyone's been trolling this thread, it's some of you, quoting bits of my speech out of context with sarcastic bullshit and absolutely no content or genuine opinion other than, "Ohh, crap! I haven't been an asshole to my daily quota of unsuspecting people yet!"

So please, shut down this account, because I won't be coming back. You've just proved everything I suspected about "otherkin" and I'm even more glad than ever that I won't be lumping myself in with you sad losers. If you're that depressed about still being a virgin, take a SHOWER. Trust me, water won't kill you, even if you're a vampire. Neither will soap or deodorant. Stores are open at night so you can go buy them. So're the bookstores with books on how to make friends and lovers. Really. Get out of the house a little. Quit being such a f**king pessimist all the time and automatically assuming that everyone is out to mock you. I don't. I've spent my entire life listening to assholes like you, and normal ones too, deriding me for my beliefs, and yet I have the confidence to state them here, regardless of your fears and preconceived notions. So try, if you're so convinced of your own nature or powers or whatever, believing in a little more than yourself for once.

Phhbbbbbbt.

Seriously, what is it with fairies and getting unexpectedly butthurt? That's two in who've recently blown a gasket for no apparent reason.
...
Better watch out, folks. I'm a ticking time bomb ;)

(The fact that Lopting is laughing makes this moment all the more special.)
