Subjects pretty self explanitory.

Do you think he's fact or fiction?

Fact? Do you think he's dead and No more or sleeping in a crystal cave close to Avalon?

Fiction? Ok.

Not familiar with the legend, but if he did exist, I imagine he's dead. Why? Well, it's just something humans seem to do after 80 to 100 years. The sleeping legend might've entered the corridors of mythology because those around him refused to believe such a powerful individual was susceptible to the same fragilities the rest of us are. North Koreans believe something similar with Kim Il Sung.

I think that King Arthur was based on a real historical figure who was embroidered to the point of legend. I doubt he's going to rise again when Britain needs him most.

Unless they English run out of tea. Then we might be in trouble.

Never heard of king Arthur? How can this be?

If He does rise again it'd be quite funny imagine some man in plate body with a nice sword walking aroud claiming he's the rightful king of England I wonder how people would manage that IF they understood him.

I know all sorts of legends about King Arthur, but somehow in my mind they don't really tie together.

for instance, I know about Merlin, and the sword in the stone, and Morgana Le Faye, and the Lady of the Lake, and Camelot, and the Knights of the round table, and Shallott (not too sure if that wasn't just made up for the poem though), and Lancelot and Guinivere, but I have no idea how they tie together, chronologically or otherwise, or the real details of any of the stories. (I'd love to learn them though.)

Anyway, I'm pretty sure most of what's said about King Arthur is fiction. As for historical fact, it is said that he defended us from the Scots up near Hadrian's Wall, yet at the same time his castle was said to have been in Cornwall. Not to mention the fact that the approximate date when he is supposed to have lived does not coincide with defending us from anyone at all.

In short, even if he did exist I highly doubt he was anything at all like the legends now describe him. LikeRobin Hood or something. A cute legend and a nice bit of heritage, but nothing to take too seriously.

I mean, I've heard of the guy, but from what I understand he travels around Britain with a band of silly knights, and minstrels who clack coconuts together for transportation.
